Artist's Comments

This is a picture I spent hours working on. Feel free to crit it :D

I used Artrage, with the pencil tool as usual, and did lots of smearing with the palette knife to make it look like pastels and give a sort of scumbling effect. The folds I had lots of trouble with, dunno if I got the anatomy right LOL so I will need some pointers.

Doesn't he look sexy?

I will be uploading the uncut version shortly!

Oh, I know who that is now. I remember only glimpses of that show because I used to watch it. He was the bad guy too.

Still, you could work on the back of the head.

That I will do! Thank you!

It's weird, in some dubs, Zoisite was female, in others, he and Kunzite were somewhat related, and in others, their relationship was rather... minimized...

Who is it? I have nooooooo idea :D
He just looks like Edgar from FFVI to me!
:iconsanjouin-dacapo:
It's Zoisite, one of the bad guys from the first series of Sailor Moon. In the English and several other dubs he was turned into a woman 'cause of his relationship with another man, Kunzite. He, Kunzite, Nephrite, and Jadeite, are the four heavenly kings who work for Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom XD

Very good shading. I like the effects on the hair, especially. The overall picture needs a lot more definition, though. All the little specks of white (I'm sure they're a result of pixellation) make the image appear unfinished, and I'm sure you could define him a lot more sharply against the background.

Thank you! Um, the white spots I'll hafta look at, but I use a textured paper with a pencil tool in Artrage so that could be part of the problem. I will have to look into using anti-aliasing of some sort. I'm looking for a realistic pastel-effect, and I'm kinda new to some of these programs and the tablet. I'm glad you like the shading, and it's great to get critiques!

It's a quite realistic pastel effect. I've had the same white-spots problem with chalk pastel on real, live textured paper.

Thank you! I love the pastel effect, and I'm about to upload a picture I was working on earlier, one that I used live models for. It's a picture of roses :D
