I went to the mall today to show off my home-made parrot costume which was basically a red sweatsuit and knit cap with a feather boa over it, some 'wings' I made and taped onto the sleeves, tail feathers I taped onto the back of my pants, and a beak I made out of styrofoam plates and construction paper. Also painted my face and it turned out ok, though some people still thought I was a chicken at first. Probably should've kept the beak black, but it looked good either way.

Making Halloween costumes is a lot of fun! If you want to get a good costume, don't search the aisles for a pre-made one - look through the craft section and even modify some old or cheap clothes. Don't spend too much money or try to make it look perfect either - just have a good time!
